I have been working with Philip for over 18 years conducting safety culture assessments of our companies. He always customizes the process to fit our needs, and he is quick to respond to our unique requests. The assessments have given us a direct lens into the perceptions of our workforce and how our systems function. It offers workers a platform to provide us with genuine, detailed feedback on different aspects of our safety culture, and we use that feedback to develop specific actions items to make improvements. I strongly suggest anyone wishing to elevate their safety performance to reach out to Philip. – Chris May, CRH AMAT VP of EHS Operations

Philip has spent most of the last year conducting training around human performance and safety management leadership development for our team on a large project. Using his insights, it has created cultural improvements around safety, open dialogue around what makes good leaders, and strengthened the bond of the team. My favorite part is the team actually looks forward to the training and always asks when the next session will be.

Philip’s empathy, compassion, and concern for mankind is contagious! Philip continues to be very instrumental in my development in the safety industry! Philip has taught me the importance of understanding Human performance to prevent future accidents by improving thought process, design, training, and team safety. Human failings are rarely root causes – instead, a systemic approach to safety views human error as a consequence of other failures. The best way to improve performance is by helping people think better; doing this requires letting other people think, then helping them think in more efficient ways, instead of telling them what to do. All of Philip’s teachings are based around encouragement, self-improvement, positive feedback, and Cultural awareness. Being solution focused means focusing only on the way ahead. Looking into the problem reinforces the brain circuits associated with the problem. Focusing on problems leads to blame, excuses and justifications. Philip does a phenomenal job at addressing the deeper issues within our scope of work to get real CHANGE in the work force!
